About Plusmo
- What is Plusmo?
- Plusmo is a FREE service that lets you run cool mobile widgets on your phone. Mobile widgets are tiny apps that offer a streamlined mobile experience for a specific purpose. There are over 20,000 widgets on Plusmo, most of them created and shared by users like you. Also try Plusmo sports widgets that offer live coverage for most sports on almost any phone.

- What do I need to get Plusmo?
- All you need is a browser on your mobile device. Just go to plusmo.com/m from your mobile phone browser and download the client. On smartphones such as iPhone and Android, we also offer sports applications such as College Basketball Live that you can download directly fro the application galleries such as the iPhone App Store or Android Market.
Note: Some operators block access to applications based on the data plan of the subscriber. So, even though your browser might be working, you might see connectivity issues with the Plusmo client.
- Is Plusmo really free?
- Yes. Plusmo is free to use. But, your mobile operator may charge you for data downloaded if you do not have a data plan. We recommend that you get an unlimited data plan to avoid getting charged per download. See below for few examples.
- Can I use Plusmo even though I don't have a mobile data plan?

Yes. You can use Plusmo even though you don't have a data plan, but we do not recommend it. Here are some example data plans:
- What mobile phones and PDAs does Plusmo support?
- Plusmo supports all J2ME MIDP 2.0 and MIDP 1.0 enabled mobile phones, RIM/Blackberry devices, S60 Web Runtime Widgets, iPhones, Android-enabled phones, Windows Mobile Smart phones and Pocket PC enables PDAs. We are constantly adding support for new devices and operating systems.
Plusmo currently does not support BREW enabled devices.
- What carriers does Plusmo support?
- Plusmo currently supports access from over 130 carriers around the world.
- How come the Plusmo application is not supported on my device?
- At Plusmo, we are continually working on expanding the device coverage on a daily basis. If you find that we don't support your device, please send an email to support [at] plusmo [dot] com.
- What information do you collect from your subscribers? What is your privacy policy?
- We collect subscribers' phone numbers, email addresses, and phone/PDA information such as make, model, and carrier. This information helps us to send the Plusmo client appropriate to subscribers' device. Plusmo does not share subscribers' information with other parties. Please refer to our privacy page for details.
- How can I contact Plusmo customer support?

Getting Started
- Why do you need my email address to register?
- Your email address is used to log in to plusmo.com to manage your mobile content subscriptions. On email-enabled devices we use the email to send you an install link. If instead you want an SMS be sent to you with an install link, we'll ask you for your phone number and operator during the registration. An either case, your email address is the primary mechanism to log in. We will only use your email address for support and inform you of new releases. Like you, we also hate spam.
- I deleted the Plusmo client? How do I re-install it?
- Go tohttp://plusmo.com/m from your mobile device and redownload the client. If you had registered before, you can login from your mobile device to reinstall all your widgets. Otherwise just visit the gallery and add any widgets you like.
- What do I do after I get the SMS or email on my phone?
- Open the Text Message. Most of the newer phones automatically highlight the download link. Select this link and follow instructions to download Plusmo. If this doesn't work, here is some additonal help...

- How do I download Plusmo onto my phone?
- When you subscribe to a blog or channel at plusmo.com, we will send an email or text message (SMS) to your mobile phone or PDA. This message will contain the link to download our software. Click on the URL to download and install Plusmo. You can also go to plusmo.com/m from your mobile phone browser and download the Plusmo client to your mobile device.
- How do I start using Plusmo once it is installed on my device?
- On Java Enabled (J2ME) devices, access your mobile phone's list of downloads and/or applications and select "Plusmo" to launch it. On RIM devices, you can launch Plusmo from the Applications folder. If you downloaded Plusmo applications for Android or iPhone, they are available on your mobile phone to launch directly, as individual applications (i.e., there is no Plusmo Widget client required for the iPhone or Android phones)
- Whenever I enter the password on a Blackberry device, it capitalizes the first character!
- When entering the password on a Blackberry device, type the first letter twice, finish typing rest of the characters, go back to the first letter, delete it and then select 'Accept'.
- When downloading the application, I get a warning that the file is "non-trusted." What does this mean?
- You will see this message when downloading the Plusmo application on your J2ME device because the application is not signed by a trusted Certificate Authority (CA). The application has been signed by an internally issued non-commercial root certificate. Cell phones and PDAs do not automatically trust the root certificate of the internal Certificate Authority and hence warn you when downloading our software.
Mobile Device Settings
- How can I view Plusmo configuration information?
- Launch the Plusmo application on your mobile phone or PDA. Select Menu and click on "Options" to view the configuration information.
- What settings do I need on my phone?
- Most phones come pre-configured with correct settings to access the data sites. You can quickly test this out by using the mobile browser on your phone. If your settings are incorrect, we have a starter page for you: Tips to configure your phone
